Surely you’ve searched the web for a service before? Maybe you need a life coach, a hair stylist, a yoga studio, a new therapist, a good restaurant, a dog sitter, or a new tennis instructor – or anything for that matter!

I do all the time! Sometimes to seek a friend’s input on a quality referral, but often times, I just search the internet! I’ve noticed that what makes me choose one business over another one is behind the company itself. I’ll articulate.

The first thing we see of a business is their website. The color, the mood, and the photos are the things that capture our attention. Something similar happens when we buy an outfit – we take a look at it and buy it if it looks good! I don’t know you personally, but when I go shopping online I buy only the things that “speak” to me. You know the feeling you have when you finally find something that seems to be perfect for you? Like, it was meant to be?

That very same way, I choose what restaurant I want to eat at or which doctor I’lll take my kids to.

The first page I visit is the about me page. I want to know as much as possible about the person I’m going to ask for a service or product from.

Of course I see at their photos. But I’m not looking for the classical corporate headshots, I need to see the real person behind the business. At least that’s what I like to see.

You might be wondering how you can really see the real person just looking at their photos. Believe me when I say you can, it’s just a matter of photos! And, how the photos are used to tell a personal story.

dog sitter, brand photography

I spent a whole day with Kim, she is the owner of Leashes&Littlerboxes here in Atlanta. It was a joy to work with her!

She takes care of your pets like they are her own. She does it with love and compassion! I knew from the very first time I met Kim that she is a special person. She is a talkative, openminded, sensitive, and trustworthy person! She told me about her life and her business, which is so much more than just a business.

All my branding sessions have a preliminary consultation – I need to have a conversation with you. We talk and we figure out if we are a good match. During that meeting I want you to tell me everything about your vision, mission and desired outcome of the session. I’m also able to work with your web designer on mood, tone and element!

This is how it works:

Consultation

This is when you tell me everything about your business, why you do what you do, when you started, the things you want to achieve, and obstacles you see in your path. You’ll be provided a questionnaire to help you through this process. During this meeting, we will decide together if we’re a good match.

Session

Depending on the stories you want to tell about your business, we decide how many hours/days we need to spend together. It can be as few as 2 hours or up to several days. It really depends on your vision. It usually takes 4 hours to tell 2 stories (people generally hope to tell one professional story and one more personal).

Revealing

These is the part where you need some Kleenex. It’s moving seeing your react when you go through your photos. I’m really quick on releasing photos from your session. They should usually land in your inbox after one week from our session together. Isn’t that great? And if you’re unhappy with what you see, we can make up the session!

When I browse the internet I try to look for something that can tell me a little bit more about that person, what does she like, what does she do in her spare time? This because if I want to hire someone to do something for me I need to trust him/her.

Don’t think twice about hiring a brand photographer, just ask yourself when you’ll do it.
