Hey, I’m Barbara

Artist, mother, wife and passionate family photographer

Where I Come From

A lifetime of travel brought me to Atlanta, but my roots are in Italy. After many years living overseas, it still feels like home. It’s where I can be with my parents, my sister and my oldest friends. My children, Ricky and Greta, were born there, so moments from my own childhood now mingle with memories of their earliest years.

In Sicily, where I grew up, the sweet scent of orange blossom often fills the air. The flower is said to symbolize purity and innocence, both qualities that inspire my work. You’ll find the bloom features prominently throughout my branding, reflecting my honest, unfiltered approach and the raw, natural beauty of the families I photograph

My Photography

I’m not interested in taking fake, overly posed photos. Instead, I focus on precious, everyday moments, creating a visual story of your daily life as it unfolds.

If we only reach for our cameras when our children are immaculately dressed, happy, and well behaved, we quietly teach them these are the only moments worth remembering, the only times we see their beauty.

My photographs document things that are easily missed when you’re busy raising a family. A playful glance between siblings, a mom’s morning kiss, or the way a father scoops his kids into his arms before bed.

I have a gift for capturing people honestly and unobtrusively in their own homes.

This allows me to show you your world from another perspective, so you can look back and appreciate the simple beauty of it all for years to come.

My Inspiration

Growing up in the 70s and 80s, I remember my dad with his camera, constantly taking photos and filling albums with his prints. We waited patiently for each film to be developed, always eager to see the results.

Dad documented our lives with such purpose. He was telling a story – the story of me and my sister, our family and the world we lived in.

Through his pictures, he turned that story into something tangible, creating a collection of memories we could hold in our hands.

Dad was my earliest inspiration and the reason photography became my favorite childhood hobby.

Years later, it was Ricky and Greta’s au pair who prompted me to start taking pictures again. I was working hard, spending many hours away from the children, so she’d snap photos of them for me as they went about their daily routine. Her pictures made me realize just how much we can miss if we don’t pause to capture the little things.

About Me

When I’m not busy taking photos of other families, I enjoy spending time with my own. I’m never far from my most precious people – Ricky and Greta, my beloved husband and our adorable dogs, Rio and Georgia. We love family movie nights at home, curled up on the couch together with lots of pizza and popcorn.

Although we’ve settled in Atlanta, I still love to travel. I like quiet, peaceful places best, where I’m free to wander, dream and discover new inspiration. I always keep my camera handy, just in case.
